Jiffy is my final project for the Interface Design bachelor: a scheduling and time-tracking platform built for small hospitality businesses. I took it through the full design process, from market research and user interviews to usability testing, branding, a landing page and promotional material.

In many restaurants and bars, tracking hours is still a detour. Employees write their hours on paper, the owner types them into an online system, and then enters them again in Excel to calculate wages and tips. It costs time, invites mistakes, and lands on people who rarely have time to spare. Existing tools tend to be built for larger companies, which makes them feel too complex, too expensive or outdated for a small team.

Jiffy brings those steps together in one tool. Employers build schedules in a clear desktop environment, reuse default schedules for recurring weeks and send hours straight on for payroll. Employees see their shifts and submit their hours in a mobile app. I tested the design with several rounds of owners and employees from the hospitality sector and adjusted it after each round, always guided by one principle: the tool has to stay simple and direct.
